The Surface Coatings Australia Scholarship awarded to Ahmed Owais

Congratulations to Mr Ahmed Owais, who has been awarded The Surface Coatings Australia Scholarship. Ahmed’s PhD project is to develop energy-efficient methods to separate the crude-oil and renewable water-soluble chemicals from the water phase by developing robust nanostructured coatings on porous substrates, based on special wettability coatings and supramolecular chemistry.

Welcome back to Professor Trusis Smith-Palmer

Welcome back to Professor Trusis Smith-Palmer, visiting Professor from Chemistry Department, St Francis Xavier University, NS, Canada.  Truis is a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at StFX and is a member of the Biofouling Research institute at StFX. She is interested in making and testing surfaces that inhibit biofouling, particularly those that are environmentally benign.

Farewell to Nan Gao

Today we farewelled Nan Gao, who is taking up a new postdoctoral position at Uni SA. We wish Nan all the best!

Welcome to Felix Vuellers

We welcome Felix Vuellers from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology to our group, who will spend 6 months of his PhD working with us on structured surfaces.
